A LIMERICK-born artist, who opened a gallery on O'connell Street only three years ago, has produced the city's first DVD offering instruction to budding artists.
Annemarie Bourke who runs the ‘Studio Basement' at 98 0’Connell Street explains: “The idea came originally from a final year project at Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT). Entitled 'Watercolour for Beginners’ the resulting DVD covers all the basic techniques you need to begin painting in watercolour.
"For example, how to make beautiful washes, how to get the most out of your brush and how to create painterly brush marks. The next part is a demonstration of a cottage in Tipperary and the viewer is invited to paint along as I complete the painting."
